US-Senat bestätigt Clayton als neuen Geheimdienstchef
Der US-Senat hat den von Präsident Donald Trump vorgeschlagenen Juristen Jay Clayton als neuen Geheimdienstchef bestätigt. Mit 51 zu 47 Stimmen votierten die Mitglieder der mehrheitlich republikanischen Kongresskammer für den Staatsanwalt aus New York. Trump muss die Ernennung noch offiziell unterzeichnen, bevor Clayton vereidigt wird. "Jay ist in jeder Hinsicht herausragend und wird als Direktor hervorragende Arbeit leisten!", schrieb Trump im Anschluss auf Truth Social.
